DETAILed ITINERARY
Day 1: Pick up from Dehradun – Drive to Sankri ( 210 Km)
You will be picked up from Dehradun and driven to Sankri in one of our vehicles. By 3 p.m., report to Sankri. Sankri is a small but beautiful town in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district, near the Govind Pashu national park. Dehradun is about 195 kilometers away. We will have a night’s stay as well as dinner. A guest house/homestay will be planned for your stay.
Day 2: Sankri – Taluka – Cheludgad camp
After breakfast, take a taxi to Taluka, which is 11 km from Sankri. Once there, take a short break before beginning your trek to Cheludgad. The trail takes you through a thick pine forest, where a variety of animals live due to the region’s rich flora and fauna. The trail is difficult to follow and in poor shape.
Trees accompany you on your journey through the thick forest, and Langoors can be seen hanging from one tree to the next. Birds can be heard chirping and unusual species of birds can be seen. This is where Uttarakhand’s state bird, the “Himalayan Monal,” can be found.
Set up your tents in Cheludgad, eat dinner, and sleep under the stars.
Day 3: Trek from Cheludgad camp to Devsu Bugyal (07 km) (3/4 Hours)
Today’s hike is 7 kilometers long, so bring a packed lunch. Begin climbing towards Devsu Bugyal, where you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, vast valleys, and cascading waterfalls.
Now walk through a dense forest of Pines and Oaks, under the shade of trees with the sound of falling leaves. This location has abundant alpine vegetation and is home to a variety of Himalayan birds and animals that can be seen on the way to the campsite.
After a steep uphill climb, you’ll arrive at Devsu Bugyal, where you’ll be surrounded by lush greenery and undulating meadows. This is a fantastic camping spot with spectacular views of Kala Nag (Black Peak). Set up the tents and stay overnight there comfortably.
Day 4: Trek from Devsu Bugyal to Ruinsara Tal (12 km) (5/6 Hours)
Leave Devsu Bugyal’s campsite and head towards Ruinsara Lake; the trek is long, so bring a lunch to eat in the center. You will be mesmerized by the near views of snow-covered mountains with cascading waterfalls as you climb.
The path is muddy and some sections are slick, so proceed with caution; after this segment, you must cross a bridge over Supin.
This holy Lake is surrounded by peaks and provides breathtaking views of pristine mountains – Black Peak, Swargarohini (I) (II) (III), Bandarpoonch, and the Ruinsara range – after a steep climb. Pitch the tents in the perfect place and retire for the night after a delicious meal.
Day 5: Trek from Ruinsara Lake to Kyarkoti Advance Base Camp (7 km) (5/6 hours)
Make a wish for Ruinsara Lake and then travel to Kyarkoti. The sight of Black Peak from here is enough to energize you for the days ahead.
Set up your tents and settle in for the day at Kyarkoti, a meadow surrounded by mountains and boulders.
Day 6: Trek Kyarkoti Advance Base Camp to Camp 01 Dharon Odari (6 km) (4/5 hours)
Dharon Odari is your camp for today, and it’s number one. Leave Kyarkoti’s grounds and go on. After gaining altitude, you can reach your destination after a steep climb. Set up your tents and make yourself at home for the day.
Day 7: Rest + Acclimatization Day at Camp 01
Acclimatization helps to avoid high altitude sickness, so go for a quick walk today and then take it easy for the rest of the day.
Day 8: Trek from Dharon Odari (Camp 01) to Camp 02 (04 km) (3/4)
Begin your journey from Camp 01 to Camp 02, which is located at a height of 5000 meters. The campsite is reached after crossing steep ascents and a difficult trek. Set up the tents and sleep in them comfortably.
Day 9: Trek from Camp 02 to Dhumdhar Kandi Pass (5608 m) and Ratiya camp (6 km)
Analyze the weather and trail conditions and proceed to Dhumdhar Kandi Pass as soon as possible. The majority of today’s trek is a steady ascent, but you can experience humps and a steep climb later on.
Ascend to the summit (5608 m) for breathtaking views of Swargarohini, Black Peak, and Bandarpoonch. Plan the descent after you’ve spent some time at the pass; it’s steep and difficult at first, but it gets easier as you go.
Ratiya camp is the campsite for today, so get there and set up your camp in a secure place. Take good care of yourself and get some rest for the night.
Day 10: Trek from Ratiya camp to Kyarkoti camp (9 km) (4/5 hours)
After breakfast, make your way to Kyarkoti, where you camped on Day 5. The grasslands are great for camping; enjoy staying another night there and relaxing for the night.
Day 11: Trek from Kyarkoti to Dhorian Gharat (7 km) (4/5 hours)
The descent from Kyarkoti to Dharian Gharat is fast, and the trek today can be completed in 4 to 5 hours. Arrive at the campsite, set up your tents, and relax for the day.
Day 12: Trek Dharian Gharat to Jhala Harshil (9 km) same day Drive to Dehradun
