Mt. Nanda Ghunti EXPEDITION
Mt. Nanda Ghunti (6309 m), also known as the “Veil of Goddess Nanda Devi,” is a mountain in the Nanda Devi National Park in the Garhwal Himalayas. This huge mountain, along with the mighty trident-shaped Trishul massif, may be seen from the famed Roopkund trek. Serious climbing enthusiasts seeking a challenge have flocked to Mt. Nanda Ghunti. Despite the fact that it is not technically tough, the peak is known for its unpredictable weather and crevasses on the way to the summit. Mt. Trishul, Chaukhamba massif, Kamet, Nanda Devi, Dronagiri, and many more peaks can be seen from the summit.

DETAILed ITINERARY
Day1: From Dehradun to Sutol
The complete expedition crew will meet us at 6:30-7:00 a.m. today, and we will drive to Sutol Village, which is about 250 kilometres from Dehradun. We’ll arrive at Sutol in the evening. Overnight stay at a homestay. will meet and assemble in Dehradun, where an introduction and briefing session will take place. All of the expedition’s equipment will be double-checked and finished. We’ll spend the night in a hotel or guesthouse.
Day2: Whole day for in Sutol
Today we will rest in Sutol where there will be an introduction and briefing session. We will also prepare for the expedition in terms of equipment and permits. Overnight in homestay.
Day3: From Sutol to Lata Khopri
Today we will relax at Sutol, where an introduction and briefing will take place. We’ll also get ready for the excursion by gathering equipment and obtaining permissions. Staying in a homestay for the night.
Day4: From Lata Khopri to Homkund/Base Camp
Today we depart towards Lata Khopri, leaving Sutol behind. The journey to Lata Khopri will take around 5-6 hours and will include a succession of ascents and descents, similar to any other forest trek. We’ll arrive at Lata Khopri and set up camp for the night. Dinner is served, and then it’s time to call it a night.
Day5: Acclimatization Day at Base Camp
We’ll spend today in base camp resting and allowing our bodies to fully acclimate and prepare for the days ahead.
Day6: From Base Camp to Advanced Base Camp and back
We load the ferry from Base Camp to ABC today and then return to Base Camp for the night.
Day7: From Base camp to ABC
We’ll change to the ABC today and spend the night here to enable our bodies to acclimate. Tents will be used for the night.
Day8: From ABC to Camp 1 and back
Today we load everything from ABC to camp 1 and then return to ABC for the night.
Day9: ABC to Camp 1
We’re going to Camp 1 today to relax for the night. Allow your body to adjust to the high altitudes. Tents will be used for the night.
Day10: From Camp 1 to Summit Camp and back
We’ll load the ferry from Camp 1 to Summit Camp today and then return to Camp 1 for the night.
Day11: From Camp 1 to Summit Camp
We’ll go ahead and set up Summit Camp now. We’ll also make any necessary rope repairs and prepare for the summit assault the next day. Tents will be used for the night.
Day12: From Summit Camp to Summit and back
Between 2-3 a.m. today, we’ll make a push for the summit. Some areas have a slope gradient of around 65 degrees, with crevasses along the way. The fixed ropes are critical at this point. You will be able to see the beauty of the surrounding peaks such as Trishul, Bertoli, Chaukhamba, Kamet, Nanda Devi, and many others after you reach the summit. Awe-inspiring and well worth the effort. Enjoy the occasion and make your way down to camp 1, where we will spend the night.
Day13: From Camp 1 to Base Camp/Homkund
We’ll retrace our route back to the base camp, where we’ll spend the night. Tents will be used for the night.
Day14: From Base Camp to Sutol
We’ll retrace our ways back to Sutol, where our spectacular adventure will come to a close. Staying to a friend’s house for the night.
Day15: From Sutol to Dehradun
We’ll depart early in the morning and drive to Dehradun, where we’ll say our goodbyes.
Day16: Reserve Day
If the weather prevents you from summiting the day before, set aside a day to do it.

- Footwear: The trekking boots which must be waterproof and snow proof, normal boots, floaters, and woolen socks.

- Clothes: Jacket and trousers that are both waterproof and breathable. Jacket (synthetic or down feather fleece), synthetic insulated trousers, poncho, sweatshirt, inner thermal (upper & lower), fleece, t-shirts, cotton trekking pants, shorts
- Season wise Clothes:
- Hand and head protection includes liner gloves, bandannas, sun hats, woollen caps, and face masks, among other things.
- Accessories: Sunglasses/goggles, anti-glare lenses, water bottle, hydra bag, and headlamp with spare bulb and extra batteries are all recommended.
- Trekking Gears: Toolkit for an emergency. Sunscreen, a toiletry pack, water purification pills, Ziploc packs, ear plugs, first-aid kit, and the necessary medications are all recommended.
- Camping Equipment: Sleeping bags of lining (extreme -5 to +5 Celsius if you have one), trekking sticks, and so on.
- Warm top/light micro fleece pullover/full sleeve T shirt – 2/3
- Water resistant/repellent trekking pants with an inner lining for added warmth- 2 High-quality windproof/water-resistant outer shell (jacket) with a proper hood
- Thick Fleece / Full-sleeve Woollen Jumper, Down Jacket with at least 600 fill capacity Innerwear with a thermal component (upper and lower)
- Woolen hat, inner fleece gloves, and outer water-resistant gloves
- 4–5 pairs of thick woollen socks and standard socks, scarf/muffler (optional)
- Waterproof Trekking/Hiking shoes with a thick heel and high ankles that are comfortable to wear. Sneakers/sport shoes are ideal for camp.
- Poncho or raincoat. A small, light-weight towel
- A hydration pack and an insulated water bottle (optional)
- Sunglasses with UV cover and the potential to cut light, as well as a cap or floppy hat to shield the strong sun off your skin (important when traversing through snow)

- Moov spray Betadine or other antiseptic cream (aches, & sprains)
- If you're vulnerable to knee injuries, you should wear a knee cap. Powder with antifungal properties
- Cancellation: If a trek is cancelled at the last minute due to a natural disaster or unforeseeable circumstances (such as floods, earthquakes, landslides, attack, or bandh), Discoveryhike will have a trek voucher for the full number. The voucher can be used for the same or a different trek over the next year.
- In case you wish to cancel the trek, then please be aware of these things:
- Cancellations made within 30 days of the trek's launch date will include a complete refund.
- If you cancel within 30 and 20 days before the hike, you will get a 50% refund.
- There will be no refund if you cancel less than 20 days before the trek begins.
- Please keep in mind that if you get a refund, there will be a reduction of 4% (Cancellation charges) from the overall amount you pay. In addition, if you purchased trek insurance, you would not get a refund.
